progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya has successfully uncovered 276 crime cases during the implementation of Operation Sikat Jaya ahead of the 2024 Pilkada. A total of 341 people have also been named as suspects for various crime cases.
Director of Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra in his official statement explained, that Operation Sikat Jaya was held for 15 days from 9-23 August 2024. This operation was held to create a conducive public order situation ahead of the series of implementation of the 2024 Pilkada.
“The target of Operation Sikat Jaya is to create a conducive public order situation in the Polda Metro Jaya area. We want to create a safe situation ahead of the implementation of the Pilkada soon,” said Kombes Pol Wira, Thursday, (19/9).
Furthermore, Kombes Pol Wira explained, of the 276 cases that were uncovered, aggravated theft cases reached 68 cases. Then there were 108 cases of motorcycle theft, 28 cases of ordinary theft, 12 cases of theft with violence or mugging, and 6 cases of assault.
Then there were 12 cases of gambling, 4 cases of ganging up, 8 cases of prostitution, 9 cases of Emergency Law or being caught using sharp weapons without rights, 4 cases of extortion, 10 cases of receiving goods, and 12 cases of fraud to embezzlement.
“For the 12 cases of gambling crimes, 3 cases were online gambling and 9 cases were conventional gambling,” said Kombes Pol Wira again.
Meanwhile, for the evidence that was successfully confiscated, Kombes Pol Wira said, that there were 9 firearms and 29 sharp weapons obtained. Then there was evidence of 10 four-wheeled vehicles, 95 two-wheeled vehicles, Rp26.2 million in cash, 127 cellphones and 6 laptops.
Meanwhile, for the 341 suspects who are currently being detained, all have been named as suspects.
For suspects in assault cases, they are charged with Article 351 of the Criminal Code, theft cases are subject to Article 365 of the Criminal Code, theft cases are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code, gambling is subject to Article 303 of the Criminal Code, assault is subject to Article 170 of the Criminal Code, and extortion is subject to Article 368 of the Criminal Code.
