progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – In order to secure the celebration of International Labor Day/May Day in the Monas and Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) areas today, Wednesday, (1/5), the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat deployed 3,412 joint personnel from elements of the Polri, TNI, Satpol PP, Damkar and Dishub. Thousands of personnel will be distributed to several security points around Monas and GBK.
Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro in his official statement explained, that apart from security, his party had also prepared situational traffic engineering scenarios, both closing roads and diverting traffic flow.
“Traffic engineering is situational depending on conditions on the ground. If the protesters start to arrive, then the routes we will close and divert include the Harmoni traffic light which leads to Jalan Merdeka Barat, which will be closed and diverted to Jl. Kesehatan,” said Kapolres Susatyo.
“Then we will also close Jalan Perwira which leads to Jalan Merdeka Utara and channel it towards Istiqlal and Lapangan Banteng. Then we will also close Jalan Merdeka Barat in front of the Sapta Pesona Building,” he added.
Therefore, he continued, people who will pass around Monas should look for alternative routes to avoid traffic jams. The reason is, there will be workers and elements of society who will express their opinions at the Horse Statue and at GBK.
Furthermore, Kapolres Susatyo Police also said, that residents who will express opinions in public, as regulated in the law, must also pay attention to the rights of people who do not take part in these activities. This must be adhered to so that activities for expressing opinions in public can run safely, orderly and conducively until the end.
Finally, all security personnel on duty are also advised to always act persuasively and not be provoked.
“Put forward negotiations and provide humanist service. No one carries firearms or bayonet. All orders and control are from me. There are no additional personal movements. Serve our brothers who will convey their opinions well and humanistically,” emphasized the Kapolres Susatyo. (Bembo)
