Achieving Food Security Target, Pangdam Rudy Saladin Calls for Acceleration of LTT and Provision of Tertiary Irrigation Networks

progresifjaya.id, SURABAYA – The commitment of the Kodam V/Brawijaya to support national food security programs is truly strong. One of them is full power support related to the acceleration of the additional planting area or LTT rice program in East Java

As is known, the target for the additional planting area of rice in East Java in 2025 has been set at 2.748.760 hectares. From this target amount, until the third week of January 2025, an additional planting area of 217,711 hectares has been achieved in East Java.

Regarding this achievement, it was revealed during a coordination meeting or coordination meeting held at the Balai Prajurit Building, Makodam V/Brawijaya, Surabaya, Friday, (24/1) morning. And in this coordination meeting, the Pangdam V/Brawijaya, Mayjen TNI Rudy Saladin also stated that this achievement was not easy to obtain.

“This achievement is not an easy task. But i am very sure that with good cooperation from all parties, the LTT target that has been set can be achieved,” said Pangdam Rudy Saladin enthusiastically.

In addition to discussing LTT, on the occasion of the coordination meeting which was also attended by the Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia in East Java, the Dandim in the ranks of Kodam V/Brawijaya, the Head of the Agriculture Service throughout East Java, the Head of the PU SDA Service throughout East Java and all other related stakeholders, Pangdam Rudy Saladin also reminded again about the provision of tertiary irrigation networks.

Tertiary irrigation networks are irrigation networks that function to serve irrigation water in tertiary plots. This network consists of tertiary channels, quarter channels, and complementary buildings. This irrigation network will bring water to the plots served.

“Immediately carry out synchronization, accelerate the realization of repairs and construction of tertiary irrigation channels to realize food self-sufficiency this year,” said Pangdam Rudy as a reminder.

As is known, the food security program is indeed a serious concern of Kodam V/Brawijaya. And without any hesitation, to make the program a success, all Babinsa in the ranks of Kodam V/Brawijaya were deployed to every agricultural land in each Babinsa’s area.

Not only providing assistance to farmers, the Babinsa also work to monitor every agricultural facility and infrastructure. Including tertiary irrigation channels that flow to the agricultural areas of farmers in the Babinsa territorial area. Well, perfecto, Jenderal. (Bembo)
