progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Oklahoma City Thunder crowned themselves as 2025 NBA champions. In a fierce 7-game battle against Indiana Pacers, the battle in Game 7 was successfully completed with a 103-91 victory over Indiana Pacers on Sunday, (22/6), local time. Thunder managed to beat Pacers with an aggregate of 4-3.
This victory became Thunder’s first title since changing its name and city from Seattle Supersonics in 2008. And since becoming Thunder, this is their second NBA Finals.
The Achilles injury suffered by Tyrese Halliburton from Indiana Pacers did indeed change the situation significantly. Moreover, Haliburton had scored 9 points during 7 minutes of play.
Even so, in fact, it was Thunder who had difficulties. Pacers were still able to lead narrowly 48-47 heading into the break between rounds.

Thunder finally got the momentum right before the middle of the third quarter. A series of triple-three points made them lead 9 points. T.J. McConnell tried to keep the Pacers’ chances, but his 10-point streak alone emphasized the Pacers’ difficulties. A total of 8 turnovers that the Pacers made in the third quarter allowed the Thunder to open the lead to double digits.
The fourth quarter was not much different. The Thunder continued to have momentum as their solid defense made the furthest distance 22 points. With 8 minutes left, it was not enough for the Pacers to catch up. The Thunder won with an aggregate of 4-3 from the 7 games played.
Overall, in this match Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 12 assists for the Thunder. And in the author’s notes, the Thunder have never lost in the 2025 Playoffs if Shai scores double digit assists (6-0).
Shai also became the 11th player in NBA history to win the title, Finals MVP, and regular season MVP. The statistics he made were also the best since 1970 in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

After Shai was Jalen Williams who helped with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists. Williams became the second youngest player behind Kobe Bryant to become an NBA champion, selected All Star, All-Defense, and All-NBA in the same season. Williams is currently only 24 years old.
Then there is also Chet Holmgren who was solid in guarding the Thunder’s defense with a contribution of 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks. This record of 5 blocks is the most by one player in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace who came off the bench were also solid with 10 points each. Caruso’s additional 3 steals completed a total of 22 steals throughout the 2025 NBA Finals, the most in history by a reserve player.
Meanwhile, from the Pacers camp, Bennedict Mathurin closed the Pacers’ last game this season as the top scorer with a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds. While D T.J. McConnell and Pascal Siakam each added 16 points. Andrew Nembhard rounded out the Pacers’ statistical tally with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. (Bembo)
