progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The Focus Group Discussion or FGD activity was held by Polres Metro North Jakarta on the 6th Floor of the North Jakarta Polrestro Headquarters, Tuesday, (27/8). The activity with the theme “Synergy and development of institutional capacity for the protection of children in conflict with the law in DKI Jakarta” went smoothly with the presence of experts and institutions that care about and protect children throughout North Jakarta.
Kapolres of Metro Jakarta Utara, Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setyawan in his statement during the event said, that this FGD gave a clear and firm emphasis on the issue of saving children in conflict with the law (ABH).
“Our focus is saving children who are victims or in conflict with the law. This must be discussed clearly technically so that there are no mistakes in its implementation,” said Kapolres Gidion emphasizing.
He also said, that the involvement of all parties to sit together, both in discussing and resolving the problem completely, is also very crucial in order to save the next generation of children.
“We must move together. Collaboration is necessary because we (the police) cannot work alone. We clearly and firmly stated this in the FGD so that it can be understood by all parties,” he reminded again.
He also said, that the Polres Metro Jakarta Utara itself has proven to be very concerned in responding to every report related to children and women’s issues in the North Jakarta area.
Several reported cases or viral news on social media were immediately followed up quickly.
Kapolres Gidion also said, that the most important thing in an incident involving children as victims is to carry out psychological recovery. In addition, trauma healing treatment and medical check-ups are also carried out as initial handling efforts before entering the next process.
“If a child is facing the law, it must also involve forensic psychology to find out what the background is for the child to commit a crime,” he explained again.
Meanwhile, the final handling effort so that children stay away from criminal acts is to carry out intensive socialization of understanding.
“The final effort aims to distance children from their old environment as well as to know the consequences if a crime occurs. Hopefully, from this discussion we can understand each other and immediately take action to save them,” explained the Kapolres Gidion hopefully.
Furthermore, he also explained, the pattern of approach to children so that they do not become victims or perpetrators who face the law. The pattern in question is how to manage emotions through an approach at RPTRA.
“We start from RPTRA because there is a very close family community there. Children are also easy to reach if they are there,” he said again.
Ending his explanation, the Kapolres Gidion also conveyed a message to the community to be active in observing the social life of children around them. If there is a criminal act committed by a child, they must immediately report it to the police.
“The sooner the better. We must save them before they become criminals or children who face the law,” he reminded at the end of his explanation. (Bembo)
