progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 2.500 joint security personnel in the Jakarta area and its surroundings on the takbiran night of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H. Thousands of joint personnel will be on standby to control residents who try to hold convoys or parades using buses or open-back vehicles on takbiran night.
“Our regulations clearly and firmly prohibit convoys or parades on takbiran night. If they have held a parade or done things that endanger themselves and others, we will definitely secure them,” explained Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director, Kombes Pol Latif Usman to reporters, Saturday, (3/29).
He also emphasized, that Polda Metro Jaya has issued an appeal to residents to remain in their respective neighborhoods on takbiran night. If there are those who insist on holding convoys using open-back vehicles, they will be forced to get off and asked to return to their neighborhoods.
Meanwhile, regarding the 2.500 joint security personnel deployed, Kombes Pol Latif said some would be spread to several buffer points in Jakarta. They were tasked with blocking off areas so that no residents in groups leave their areas.
“The exact term is not blocking. What is it, for security. Buffer points such as Kalimalang, for Depok at PGC, then from Tangerang at Daan Mogot in Kalideres, we will place officers to prevent residents from the buffer areas from holding takbiran night convoys to Jakarta,” he explained again.
