progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The case of a man who was allegedly tortured and held captive for 3 months in a cafe in Duren Sawit, Jakarta Timur, seems like a horror at first. In the development of the investigation carried out by the police, this case may change genre to drama.
The man detained with the initials MMR (22) in this case has the status of a reporter. Meanwhile, the reported party was the party who tortured and held MMR captive for three months. Even so, investigators from the Polres Metro Jakarta Timut apparently did not find it that easy to handle this case. Until now, investigators are still trying hard to match the evidence and information between the reporter and the reported party.
Kapolres Metro Jakarta Timur, Kombes Pol Nicolas Ary Lilipaly in his explanation said, that the genre of this case could change from horror to drama because the reported party denied all of the complainant’s accusations. That’s not enough, the reported party also reported the reporter back to the police on suspicion of embezzlement and spreading hoaxes.
“Yes, so the progress of this case is now in mutual reporting status. The reporter set up a full attack scenario, the reported responded with a counter attack scheme. It remains to be seen who has the strongest and most efficient defense based on the results of the investigator’s investigation,” said Kapolres Nicolas to journalists using an example. The review of this matter uses the language of a football observer, last Monday, (15/7).
He explained, that the reported party was quite confident in reporting the victim who was also the reporter because he felt he had evidence of alleged embezzlement of funds which sparked their dispute. The reported person also reported the alleged hoax that the victim or reporter conveyed to the police because he thought he was telling a story.
“The embezzlement and reported stories of the reported family were hoaxes. That’s what was reported to us. So yes, that’s the status of this case now,” said Kapolres Nicolas again with a smile.
Meanwhile, the Kabid Humas of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi in his statement added, that currently investigators are confirming the truth of the victim’s statement, aka the reporter, and comparing it with the witness’s statement. Then it is compared with the evidence, confronted with the reported statement and other evidence.
“Everything must be matched to be able to get the truth of the legal facts of this case,” said Kombes Pol Ade Ary Tuesday, (16/7).
According to him, what the reporter conveyed to investigators was his version of information such as torture and threats of death.
“Based on the statement of the reporting victim, he was detained and while being held captive, he was beaten, burned with cigarettes and made to eat rocks. The victim also admitted that he received threats of being killed if he ran away or disappeared,” said Kombes Pol Ade Ary.
The victim, he continued, also admitted that he was asked by the reporting party to sell his kidney. The victim was taken to hospital to sell his kidney so he could pay off his debt.
Apart from that, said Kombes Pol Ade Ary, the victim also admitted that he lost a number of personal items when he was held captive by the perpetrator at a cafe in the Duren Sawit area, Jakarta Timur.
“This is a matter of debts and receivables, right. The victim is charged for his debt. So some time ago there was an incident of disagreement on the street which continued to be noisy, until finally there was abuse and vandalism of cars. Now people are collecting debts by holding them captive and forcing them, abusing them, and even ordering them to sell their kidneys. This is a request, please resolve every problem properly, don’t take the judge into your own hands,” he said again. (Bembo)
