progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya has obtained evidence of two new cases of former Corruption Eradication Committee Chairman, Firli Bahuri, which are currently being investigated. All witnesses in these two new cases have begun to be examined and investigators have also obtained evidence to finalize the certainty of other alleged crimes committed by Firli.
Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak in his official statement said, apart from the process of examining witnesses in two new cases which are ready to slide Firli, his party has also scheduled the examination of expert witnesses in both cases next week.
“There have been several witnesses who have been summoned. This includes the agenda for expert examinations this week and next week,” said Kombes Pol Ade Safri, Friday, (19/7).
Two new cases that are currently being investigated and are ready to tackle Firli Bahuri are alleged money laundering crimes (TPPU) and cases related to Article 36 in conjunction with Article 65 of Law Number 30 of 2002 as amended by Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning office crimes committed by Firli Bahuri when he was Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission.
As is known, since November 2023 Firli Bahuri has had the status of a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). He was charged with extortion or gratification or bribery related to the handling of legal issues at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture in the 2020-2023 period.
Polda Metro Jaya hasn’t yet arrested Firli and is still continuing to expand the extortion case into other cases. There is a grapevine, indeed, the Polda Metro has not been able to detain Firli because it is hindered by the interests of the Palace which has more full power. But the validity of this grapevine cannot be clarified so its status is just an issue, not A1 information. The rest only God knows. (Bembo)
