progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The Jakarta Timur District Court (PN) Panel of Judges sentenced an individual from the Ditresnarkoba of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKP Suhartono, to 3 years and 6 months in prison, Thursday, (28/3) yesterday. AKP Suhartono is deemed guilty of taking part in taking the life of Dul Kosim, a suspect in a narcotics case. Dul Kosim is known to have died after being assaulted by a number of members of the Ditresnarkoba of the Polda Metro Jaya.
Chairman of the Jakarta Timur District Court Panel of Judges, Gatot Ardian, who was accompanied by member judge, Rudi Rafly Siregar, said that the defendant was proven to have ordered and carried out this act. Apart from that, the panel of judges also ordered that the defendant Suhartono undergo detention.
“Sentenced the defendant to 3 years and 6 months. The defendant remains in detention,” emphasized Gatot Ardian in his decision.
In addition to the prison sentence, the defendant was also charged with paying court costs of Rp5.000.
Hearing the prison sentence of 3.6 years, the defendant firmly appealed to the panel of judges. This statement was made by the defendant Suhartono in the Purwoto Courtroom.
“I appeal, your Honor,” said the defendant.
For your information, in a separate case file, seven other defendants in this case have been sentenced to 5 prison sentences by the public prosecutor. Next week, the seven defendants will return to trial with a defense note or plea at the Jakarta Timur District Court.
The seven other defendants in this murder case are Franz Enrico Sitorus, Jati Arya Utama, Edwan Purwanda Heru Saputra, Yongki Pratama, Abriyansyah, Ahmad Jais and Ripki Permana.
Dul Kosim’s death was revealed by witnesses in court. Dul Kosim was arrested in Jakarta Utara on Saturday afternoon, July 22 2023 at around 16.30 WIB.
When Dul Kosim was arrested, the police didn’t find any evidence in the form of narcotics such as crystal methamphetamine.
At that time, Dul Kosim’s residence was also searched by officers but no drugs were found.
Dul Kosim was also taken by police officers to the Polairud Dormitory, Cilincing, Jakarta Utara. At this location, Dul Kosim was interrogated and beaten by police officers.
Dul Kosim was also abused by police officers at the Cipinang Command Post, Jakarta Timur until he died.
His body was then thrown into a ravine in the Cimahi area, West Java. (Bembo)
