progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Indonesian badminton athlete from Polda Metro Jaya, Putri Kusuma Wardani, has successfully reached the final round of Badminton Taipei Open 2024. Unfortunately, in the final match, Putri lost to Sim Yu Jin from South Korea with a score of 17-21, 13-21 and finished as runner-up on Sunday, (8/9).
Putri Kusuma Wardani reached the final round after defeating the host player Chiu Pin-Chian. She defeated her opponent through a 3-round drama with a score of 16-21, 21-16, 21-11 in the semifinal round of Taipei Open 2024 on Saturday, (7/9).
Referring to Putri’s achievements, the Kabid Humas of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi in his official statement conveyed his congratulations and appreciation for Putri Kusuma’s success in the 2024 Taipei Open badminton championship.
“The Kapolda Metro Jaya expressed his pride in the success of Bripda Putri Kusuma Wardani. He hopes that this achievement can be a motivation for all personnel to bring a good name to the Polda Metro in the field of sports, both nationally and internationally,” said Kombes Pol Ade Ary to reporters, Tuesday, (10/9) yesterday.
Putri Kusuma Wardani in her daily life is a policewoman (Polwan) with the rank of Bripda. The woman who was born in Tangerang, July 20, 2002, is assigned to the Polda Metro Jaya Ditsamapta as the Negotiation Team in the Dalmas Subdit.
Putri entered the PBSI National Training Center since 2018 when she was only 16 years old. Putri is affiliated with the PB Exist Jakarta club and has participated in various domestic and international championship competitions.
In early 2024, Putri Kusuma Wardani won a gold medal in the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championship or BATC 2024 in the women’s singles category. She defeated Lo Sin Yan Happy with a score of 21-14, 21-16 when competing at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia.
She also won the Super 300 title at the 2021 Spain Masters after defeating Line Christophersen from Denmark in the final round.
In addition, she also contributed when helping the Indonesian team defeat the Chinese team in the final match of the Suhandinata Cup at the 2019 BWF World Junior Championships. (Bembo)
