progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – News that the Pangandaran highway is being controlled by ‘next door’ motorbikes and the Polres Pangandaran traffic police are toothless to act due to a lack of personnel has attracted the attention of the Chairman of the Presidium of the People’s Communication Forum for Transparency (FORSI) who is also a police observer and member of the Central PWI Honorary Council, Berman Nainggolan Lumbanraja. He said, that this dilemma must be resolved quickly in order to create law enforcement while also raising the image of the Polri in the eyes of the Pangandaran community.
“I am saddened to read the news in the media progresifjaya.id. The Polres Pangandaran Headquarters and the SIM Satpas do not yet have their own building. There are also no operational vehicles and the personnel strength is also very limited. Even though they are on duty in an area with a population of over 400 thousand people and the average community is large in tradition and short-tempered,” said Berman in surprise, Saturday, (25/1).
“In addition, Pangandaran’s highway is also controlled by ‘next-door’ motorbikes and illegal motorbikes. Pangandaran is like a paradise for motorbike mafia. Meanwhile, the police officers there are just spectators and are not considered. This is really crazy. It must end immediately,” he added emphasizing.
Regarding this reality, representing FORSI and the Central PWI, he asked the Kapolri, the Kakorlantas and the Kapolda Jawa Barat to immediately carry out comprehensive improvements in Pangandaran. The Polres Pangandaran Headquarters will be built immediately and the number of personnel will also be increased to adjust to regional conditions. This also includes accelerating the procurement of supporting facilities for tasks such as operational cars for each task force.
According to him, the current situation, like it or not, makes the presence of the Polres Pangandaran seem to be trivialized. The motorbike mafia feels free and free to market illegal motorbikes and ‘next-door’ motorbikes in Pangandaran. In fact, in terms of their function, this is easy prey for the Criminal Investigation Unit to enforce the law.
“The criminal article is clear. Selling illegal vehicles is subject to Article 480 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 4 years in prison. The driver is also subject to Article 288. But because in Polres Pangandaran seem to be trivialized, the enforcement of the criminal article has become sluggish. The Polres Pangandaran feel they are outmatched in dealing with lawbreakers who are said to have a short temper. The question now is, how long will this condition be tolerated,” he explained again in a firm tone.
He also said, that logically this situational condition should be able to be fixed quickly. The Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo only needs to order the Kapolda Jawa Barat to issue a telegram for tour of duty personnel from each work unit to be assigned to increase the strength of personnel at the Polres Pangandaran and Polsek ranks. Then the operational car facilities for each work unit will also be sent to Pangandaran immediately. Including operational cars for the Kapolres, Wakapolres and the Kasat.
“For me, the dilemma of the Polri in Pangandaran depends on how quickly the Polri leaders move to overcome it. If the leaders act quickly to make improvements, in the next month or two i am sure the prestige of the Precision Polri in Pangandaran will be back up and they can act firmly to enforce the law against violators. Please prove my statement,” said Berman confidently. (Bembo)
