progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – A frame shop in Mampang Prapatan, Jakarta Selatan, was hit by a major fire on Thursday, (18/4) at around 19.24 WIB. The fire was so intense that it enveloped and destroyed the shop, officers were only able to extinguish the fire on Friday, (19/4) at 06.00 WIB.
Kapolsek Mampang Prapatan, Kompol David Y Kanitero in his official statement said, that this fire disaster claimed 7 lives. The seven victims were found dead in a room on the second floor. Meanwhile, five other victims suffered injuries and are currently being treated by several hospitals.
“The seven dead victims were found by firefighters in a room on the 2nd floor. And they are currently in the process of being evacuated,” said Kapolsek David to reporters, Friday, (19/4).
He also stated that, based on the summary of information obtained, the source of the fire was thought to have come from the basement floor of the frame shop.
“Firefighters found the basement room in this shop building. The origin of the fire is thought to have arisen from the basement. The cause of the fire cannot be stated yet because the investigation is still ongoing,” said Kapolsek David again. (Bembo)
