This sentence seems appropriate to be attached to three middle-ranking officers, former Head of Sub-Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya , former Kapolsek Tanjung Priok, former Head of Narcotics Investigation Unit of Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat and dozens of officers and non-commissioned officers from the narcotics investigation units of Polda Metro Jaya, Polres and Polsek ranks.
Due to the greed that has possessed their souls, the ‘wet’ category positions they hold are willingly sacrificed for the dream of billions of rupiah in results from an attempt to extort Malaysian citizens at the 2024 Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) event.
Based on Telegram Letter numbered ST/429/XII/KEP.2024 issued by the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto, the three former Heads of the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Investigation Sub-Directorate, namely AKBP Bariu Bawana, AKBP Wahyu Hidayat, and AKBP Malvino Edward Yusticia and 31 other personnel were transferred to the Headquarters Service (Yanma) section. They were all removed from their positions and parked non-job to Yanma due to alleged extortion.
This removal from office is also like a punishment for them. They get painful punishment due to their sense of gratitude that has been eroded by greed for the positions they hold. In addition to losing their positions, they are now also faced with an examination process by Propam.
Tracing from the beginning, the case that initially involved 18 police personnel began with extortion of 45 DWP spectators from Malaysia. The 18 police officers allegedly asked for money with a total value of evidence of Rp2,5 billion. This scandal then became the public spotlight and spread to foreign countries. Public complaints finally emerged and made the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto furious.
In addition to the three Sub-Directorates, the punishment was also felt by Kompol Jamalinus Laba Pandapotan Nababan who previously served as Head of the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat Narcotics Unit. The position left by Kompol Jamalinus was finally filled by Kompol Roby Hery Saputra, who previously served as Head of the Multi Media Sub-Division of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya.
“Kompol Roby was appointed as Head of the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat Narcotics Unit,” said the Head of the Public Relations Sub-Division of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Bambang Askar Sodiq via written message, Thursday, (26/12).
According to Kompol Bambang, the removal and transfer are the starting steps in handling the alleged violations of the code of ethics and criminal acts by the 34 police personnel. The examination process against them is ongoing to ensure that the sanctions given are in accordance with the level of the error committed.
Meanwhile, to fill the vacant positions of the three Heads of the Sub-Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kapolda Karyoto has also appointed three new middle-ranking officers (Pamen) to fill them. This appointment is stated in telegram number ST/429/XII/KEP.2024 signed by the Head of Human Resources, Kombes Pol Pol Muh. Dwita Kumu Wardana on behalf of the Kapolda Metro Jaya dated December 25, 2024.
The new Pamen appointed is Kompol Bambang Prakoso as a member of the Pamen of the Polda Metro Jaya (transferred from the Polda Southeast Sulawesi) who was appointed as Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate.
Then, Kompol Ari Galang Saputro as a member of the Pamen Polda Metro Jaya (Transferred from the Police Public Relations Division) who serves as Head of Sub-Directorate 2 of the Polda Metro Jaya Drug Investigation Directorate.
The last is Kompol Ade Candra as a member of the Pamen Polda Metro Jaya (Transferred from the Police Public Relations Division) who becomes Head of Sub-Directorate 3 of the Polda Metro Jaya Drug Investigation Directorate. (Bembo)
