In his official statement, the Kapolsek Metro Setiabudi, Kompol Firman explained, this incident began when the perpetrator who was riding a Kawasaki Ninja 250 motorbike was chased and shouted at by an online motorcycle taxi driver because he was suspected of mugging on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Karet Kuningan, Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan.
The perpetrator was finally arrested by security officers in the Setiabudi area, Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan.
After being secured, patrol members then passed by and asked what was going on so crowded? A security officer then came to report to the guards and two pickets to take the alleged perpetrator’s vehicle.
At that time, the alleged perpetrator did not admit his actions, resulting in an argument with the security guard. Next, the police took him to a patrol car for safekeeping while collecting information from witnesses.
“The perpetrator at that time was one person and there were five police officers. When he was secured in the patrol car, this perpetrator had not yet had time to handcuff him,” said Kapolsek Firman, Jumat, (29/3).
At that time the police patrol car’s engine was still running. This is what the alleged perpetrator used to escape by driving away with a police patrol car.
“When he was put into the car, the car was already on. The driver got out, and the person next to him also got out to look for witnesses related to the alleged mugging. Right, it was suspected to be a mugging. While clarifying this, the alleged perpetrator ran away,” he explained.
He said again, that members of the Polsek Metro Setiabudi at that time had chased the perpetrator who had taken away the patrol car. However, the police lost track of him in Mampang Prapatan, Jakarta Selatan.
“We were (chased) to the south of Mampang and lost. Then the members spread out,” he said again.
Kapolsek Firman also said, that the Kawasaki Ninja motorbike that the alleged perpetrator left behind turned out to be fake. The motorbike number plate is fake and is currently under investigation
Meanwhile, the police patrol car that was taken away by the alleged mugging perpetrator was finally found 1 hour later on the side of the road in the Kemayoran area, Jakarta Pusat.
