progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The list of suspects in the online gambling site unblocking case involving employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has increased. If yesterday there were 11 suspects arrested during a search, today, Saturday, (2/11) three more people have been added to make 14 suspects.
Dirreskrimum of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra in his statement said, that the three new suspects who were secured were the result of the development of the Jatanras Subdit team against the suspects.
“We will also continue to develop and will confiscate all assets from the suspects,” said Kombes Pol Wira.
Separately, the Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid has firmly stated that she will conduct an internal clean-up after one of her ministry’s employees was secured in connection with the judol case. She has also made an integrity pact so that all levels in the Komdigi Ministry will fight judol.
“We basically think this is good for cleaning up. And we have also emphasized to the internal ranks to support it. Once again, cleaning up is to comply with the integrity pact that we previously made with the ranks of the Komdigi Ministry to jointly fight against gambling,” Meutya explained to reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, (1/11) yesterday.
“So please pray, friends. Hopefully this will also be a good effort to clean up. In accordance with President Prabowo’s direction for us to eradicate online gambling,” she added.
It was reported yesterday that the Subdit Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya managed to secure 11 suspects while conducting a search of a three-story shophouse that was used as a satellite office. The 11 suspects consisted of 10 Komdigi employees and one civilian.
“11 people were arrested and named as suspects. There are civilians and some of them are Komdigi, there are also several Komdigi expert staff,” said Kabid Humas of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Sym Indradi to reporters yesterday.
It was said, that the arrested Komdigi individuals had full authority to block judol sites. But the Komdigi individuals abused their authority.
“They were given full authority to block. Yes, right. But they abused it. If they already knew them, they would not block them from their data,” said Kombes Pol Ade Ary again.
Meanwhile, from the results of the interim examination, the suspects admitted to receiving Rp8.5 million from each judol site that was ‘mentored’. Until the search yesterday, the suspects were recorded as having mentored 1.000 judol sites.
“Each website is approximately Rp8.5 million,” the suspect admitted to the police during a search in the Taman Galaxi area, Bekasi City, West Java yesterday. (Bembo)
