progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – During the implementation of Operation Mantap Brata for the period January – May 2024, the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat Narcotics Unit succeeded in confiscating evidence of 49.8 kg of crystal methamphetamine (sabu). Tens of kilograms of methamphetamine were the result of operations in January, March and May.
Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro in his official statement at a press conference said,
In January, his party succeeded in obtaining evidence of 1.03 kg of crystal methamphetamine. Then in March 21.9 kg of methamphetamine and in May 26.9 kg of methamphetamine.
“There were 9 cases at the crime scene. In Jakarta 6 cases, Bekas 1 case, Tangerang 1 case and Palembang 1 case. But the biggest one was in Palembang because we uncovered it is the Medan – Palembang narcotics network which is known to be slippery,” said Kapolres Susatyo at Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat Headquarters, Thursday, (16/5).
He explained, that regarding the Medan – Palembang narcotics network, the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat Narcotics Unit carried out ambushes twice. Firstly, on May 7, the circulation of 15 kg of methamphetamine from this network could be stopped. One suspect with the initials AR was also arrested along with a Toyota Innova car which was hiding evidence which was packed in a sack and placed in the back of the car.
Furthermore, from the results of the re-development it was possible to stop the circulation of 2 kg of methamphetamine from this network carried out by suspects SR and SN.
“If converted into rupiah, the 49.8 kg of methamphetamine that we have secured is estimated to be worth Rp59.320.800 with a retail price of Rp.1.200.000 per gram. The evidence that we have secured is also estimated to have saved 158.188.800 lives from the influence of drugs,” explained the Kapolres Susatyo.
He also said, that from the disclosures over the past five months, a total of 12 suspects had been arrested. All suspects are subject to multiple articles, namely Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The maximum threat that can be obtained is also horror, namely the death penalty. Meanwhile the minimum sentence is 5 years in prison.
“Finally, we also urge the public to immediately report to the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat Narcotics Hotline at number 0812-3223-7171 if they find out there is drug activity.
