progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The Jatanras Sub-Directorate, Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya raided the cockfighting gambling arena on Jalan Legok, RT 006 RW 04, Jatimekar, Jatiasih, Bekasi City, West Java, Sunday, (21/7) at around 14.00 WIB. A total of 70 people in the cockfighting gambling arena were arrested, including around 40 fighting roosters, a board for writing who fought, won or lost, and a clock for the fighting timer.
Head of Unit 2 of the Jatanras Sub-Directorate, Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Bara Libra in his statement at the cockfighting gambling location said, that this gambling activity had been going on for a month. Residents who were worried about this activity finally reported it to the police.
“Based on information, it has been around for a month. That’s every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday-Sunday, which is busy from Saturday to Sunday. Initially we received reports from people who were worried about the practice of cockfighting. Then we carried out an investigation and today we carried out a raid,” said Kompol Bara, Sunday, (21/7).
He also said, that to disguise gambling activities, the organizers deliberately displayed trophies for camouflage. This activity is also carried out in a place covered with zinc so that it is not easily seen.
“That’s just a camouflage trophy. There’s no such thing as a cockfighting championship,” he said again.
He also explained, that this cockfighting gambling activity is not only carried out by players. A number of spectators who came also gambled by placing bets.
There are two versions of betting in this arena. The first version is a player betting with a player or fellow rooster owner who is accommodated by the organizer. Then the second version of the spectator places the bet. If the rooster he placed wins, the winning share automatically goes to the player whose rooster wins.
Currently, the 70 people who were arrested from the cockfighting gambling arena have been transported to Polda Metro Jaya to undergo examination. They were all cockfighting gambling organizers, cockfighting gambling players and cockfighting gambling spectators who were mixed together and transported to Polda Metro Jaya. (Bembo)
