progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto dares to guarantee that the case process for the former Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) Chairman, Firli Bahuri will be completed. Including the process of investigating two new cases which are also related to Firli.
He emphasized, that in principle the principle of criminal law is that it is not permissible to pay cases in installments. However, yesterday’s investigation process was still focused on extortion and alleged bribery.
“Article 36 concerning office crimes is a bit behind. It also includes the article on the crime of money laundering (TPPU). Yesterday we were still focused on the articles on extortion and alleged bribery,” said Kapolda Karyoto, Friday, (5/7).
He revealed and hoped that all parties would understand, that the investigation into the Firli Bahuri case was progressing slowly because investigators didn’t want to pay the cases in installments. But once again he emphasized that he would fully guarantee that the investigation of all these cases would be complete.
“We have coordinated with the prosecutor that we cannot pay the case in installments. That’s why it’s a bit slow. We will complete it both at once. Please take time because everything needs coordination. Things that have not been fulfilled must be fulfilled immediately. What information is needed for fulfillment of the first and second articles,” said Kapolda Karyoto.
Firli Bahuri has been named as a suspect in alleged extortion of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) since November 2023. Firli was caught in an alleged crime to eradicate corruption in the form of extortion or gratification or bribery while handling legal issues at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture in the 2020-2023 period. Now Firli will also be charged with Article 36 concerning office crimes and articles concerning TPPU.
All of these processes are also the reason why Polda Metro Jaya hasn’t detained Firli. The development of alleged corruption is being closely linked to allegations of other criminal acts to make Firli’s mind and thoughts even more tormented.
After all, even though he can’t stand it at the moment, it is certain that Firli Bahuri will become an inmate in a community institution or prison. So just keep calm, okay. Prison is still prison. The ending won’t change, sir. (Bembo)
