Kapolda Metro: Seven Bodies in Bekasi River Due to Jumping in for Fear of Patrols

progresifjaya.id, BEKASI – Regarding the discovery of seven bodies in a dire condition in the Bekasi River, Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto also expressed his opinion. He suspects that the seven bodies found dead in the Bekasi River, Bekasi City, were due to jumping in for fear of being caught by police patrols. The seven bodies are based on temporary suspicions related to a brawl.

“According to brief information, this is one of the events that happened last night and statements have been taken. They did jump into the river because they were afraid of a patrol passing by or reprimanding them. Well, we are currently investigating the extent of the reprimand by our colleagues,” said Kapolda Karyoto to reporters at the scene, Sunday, (22/9).

According to him, the brawl incident in the Polda Metro Jaya area was indeed quite serious. The patrol steps taken by the police were also considered appropriate.

“What my colleagues understand is that the brawl incidents throughout the Polda Metro jurisdiction are quite serious. Many of our younger siblings, the younger generation, in the sense that they are still very young, have become victims. Jakarta, Bekasi, Depok, there are many,” he said again.

“So our steps in carrying out this patrol are correct. I said this patrol is not wrong. And why did the patrol pass by here? Because this patrol came at 03.00 WIB, but if a normal person, at that hour of course they would be resting and these are also children who are still minors and some are already over 18 years old. Indeed, we have not found all of them for identification,” he added.

He also said, that the seven bodies that were found were not local residents. They are suspected of being residents of Bantargebang.

“What is clear is that these children are not local residents. Bantargebang? I don’t know the distance, about 2 km. The question is why at 03.00 these children are still here. Personally, i am concerned,” concluded Kapolda Karyoto.  (Bembo)
