progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara, Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setyawan visited the Kasih Ampera Halfway House in Pademangan, Tuesday, (21/5). This activity is a continuation of the ‘Sunday of Love’ program which was intensively promoted by the Kapolres Gidion.
In his remarks during this visit, Kapolres Gidion expressed his thanks to the village officials who accompanied him to meet the caregivers and children who lived in the halfway house.
“Thank you for your time and welcome, especially to Mama Anna as the caregiver. Have a big heart to accept these children,” said Kapolres Gidion.
A moment later, he fell silent when he heard Mama Anna’s testimony from the children.
“Hearing some of the testimonies of the children here makes me speechless. Most of them have parents. However, their presence was rejected because they were mentally retarded (down syndrome) or autistic,” said Kapolres Gidion quietly.
“Even though they have limitations, for me, they (the children) are great people with a strong spirit,” he continued trying to strengthen the hearts of the children under Mama Anna’s care.
Meanwhile, Mama Anna as the caretaker of the Ampera shelter expressed her gratitude and gratitude to the Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara and the Pademangan village officials.
“I am very happy that the Kapolres came to us. Once again, thank you for visiting,” said Mama Anna.
He also revealed that there are 3 principles that are adhered to in nurturing and caring for residents of halfway houses. The three principles are patience, honesty and love.
Apart from that, he also gives freedom to all children and shelter home residents to carry out activities, be it cooking or playing music.
“I free them to do activities to develop themselves and their talents, such as musical instruments,” he explained.
Ending his ‘Sunday of Love’ visit to this halfway house, Kapolres Gidion didn’t forget to also distribute aid basic food packages to Ampera love shelter homes.
