progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Still in celebration of Bhayangkara’s 78th anniversary, the Polri is holding the 2024 Kapolri Cup Judo Championship at the GBK Basket Hall, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat. This championship was opened directly by the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, on Monday (15/7).
This championship itself will take place starting Tuesday, (16/7) tomorrow. The participants were not only athletes from the Polri, but also from the TNI and the general public. This aims to produce a generation of athletes who are sporty, independent and professional.
Chief Executive of the Judo Kapolri Cup 2024, Brigjen Pol Yudhi Sulistianto Wahid in his statement explained, that as many as 700 Judo athletes took part in this match. The 700 Judo athletes consisted of 379 Polri athletes, 34 TNI athletes and 287 general athletes (aged 14 – 21 years).
“Alhamdulillah, this year there are twice as many participants competing compared to last year, which was approximately 340 participants. Now there are 700 participants,” said Brigjen Pol Yudhi at the GBK Basket Hall after the opening of the 2024 Judo Kapolri Cup.
He hopes, that the Kapolri Cup Judo Championship will continue in the following years. With the hope, of course, that Indonesia will be able to take more part in national and international Judo championships.
“Of course, many achievements have been lost in previous years. We hope that a championship like this can increase the enthusiasm of new athletes, then their achievements will be better,” concluded Brigjen Pol Yudhi. (Bembo)
