progresifjaya.id, SAMARINDA – The Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo deliberately took time to meet Bripka Joko Hadi Aprianto, a non-commissioned officer from the Polsek Samarinda Hulu who is also known to the local community as a gravedigger for the community. This special meeting took place at the Samarinda Police, East Kalimantan, on Monday, (9/9) yesterday.
In this meeting, the Kapolri Listyo Sigit expressed his concern and appreciation for Bripka Joko who chose a side job as a gravedigger outside of his main job as a member of the Polri. And what made the Kapolri Listyo Sigit even more proud and moved, was that Bripka Joko had been working as a gravedigger for 23 years.
“You are now a police officer and continue to dig graves. What was in your heart when you helped carry out gravedigging. What was your intention?” asked Kapolri Listyo Sigit to Bripka Joko.
“Permission, Jenderal, in the past it was to earn a living. Now it’s for charity. Because every month, asking permission, i definitely have to pay extra. Because for the poor, I give it free. But i still pay my employees,” said Bripka Joko innocently answering the Kapolri’s question.
After listening to Bripka Joko’s experience and story, Kapolri Listyo Sigit then stated that helping the community by becoming a gravedigger is a very noble intention.
Kapolri Listyo Sigit in this conversation also mentioned officer school to Bripka Joko. However, Bripka Joko apparently preferred to be helped to expand the cemetery area for the needs of the wider community.
“Have you been to school yet. Want to go to officer school?” asked Kapolri Listyo Sigit making an offer to Bripka Joko.
“Please ask for permission, Jenderal, i apologize for wanting to add more land for the cemetery endowment because it is starting to fill up for the community,” Bripka Joko answered bluntly.
“Your intention is noble for charity,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit praising Bripka Joko’s desire.
Regarding Bripka Joko’s desire to be assisted in expanding the cemetery endowment land, Kapolri Listyo Sigit promised to communicate with the relevant parties regarding the plan to expand the cemetery area.
“This will be assisted in communicating later,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit promisingly.
Furthermore, Kapolri Listyo Sigit also reminded Bripka Joko to continue to be consistent in being a good police officer as well as a public servant. He also stated that Bripka Joko’s figure could be a role model for all Bhayangkara Corps personnel.
“And please pass on this good intention not only to your children. But also to your other colleagues. Continue to be a good police officer,” requested Kapolri Listyo Sigit to Bripka Joko.
Also to note, Bripka Joko Hadi Aprianto (37) has been carrying out his side duties as a gravedigger since he was in the 2nd grade of junior high school. This noble task carried out by Bripka Joko is also in line with the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. As recorded by HR. Baihaki and Hakim, in his sayings the Prophet said, “Whoever digs a grave for a corpse and puts it in the grave, then he will be given a reward like the reward of building a house, which he places (in) until the Day of Judgment”.
