progresifjaya.id, DEPOK – Polres Metro Depok arrested three perpetrators in a brawl between students that killed a junior high school (SMP) student last Thursday, (13/6) evening. The three perpetrators who were arrested were M, D, and F. M is still a SMP student. Meanwhile, D and F have the status of dropping out of school.
Kapolres Metro Depok, Kombes Pol Arya Perdana in his press statement said, that the three perpetrators could be arrested after the police carried out an in-depth investigation and obtained information from several witnesses at the scene.
It was also explained, that the brawl involving two groups of SMP students was allegedly sparked by challenges to each other on social media. When a brawl occurred and the victim tried to escape on a motorbike, the victim was suddenly stabbed or slashed from behind in the back and chest, causing him to fall from the motorbike.
The victim with the initials MIM (13), who was an orphan, eventually died from injuries from a brawl.
“We have secured evidence of knives and axes. These became tools for the perpetrator to carry out abuse that resulted in the victim’s death,” said Kapolres Arya, Friday, (14/6) last night.
He also added, that even though currently the 3 perpetrators have been arrested, his party is still continuing to carry out investigations to uncover the motive behind this brawl.
He also emphasized, that the Polres Metro Depok will continue to take firm and special action against students involved in brawls in Depok so that similar incidents don’t happen again. (Bembo)
