Polrestro Depok Traffic Head: “Depok SIM Services are Now Free from Brokers”

progresifjaya.id, DEPOK – Responsive response efforts were demonstrated by the Head of the Polres Metro Depok Traffic Unit, Kompol Multazam Lisendra, responding to public complaints regarding alleged SIM brokers carried out by police officers at the Depok SIM Administration Unit (Satpas).

He stated, that the process of making a SIM has now been made easier so that people no longer need the services of brokers. Because of this, he reminded the public not to pay any more attention to the services of brokers who claim to make it easier for motorists to get a driver’s license.

“If you find that there are irresponsible parties who claim to be able to make things easier, don’t believe it. I’m sure that if people are in good health, they will come and get their own SIM,” he stressed.

He also said, that the Depok SIM service area is now free of brokers. Apart from that, he also stated that the SIM Satpas had provided a free guidance service for people who had difficulty getting a SIM.

“Even if you feel it is still difficult to get a SIM, we create a tutoring program, guidance services and it’s free,” he said.

Furthermore, Kompol Multazam also said, that if the public finds any irregularities in the service at the Depok SIM Satpas, they can direct the information to their personal WhatsApp number. He also guaranteed the confidentiality of the identities of residents who provided information.

“The number that i have distributed directly to my personal cellphone, not the call center. Note it down and save it, 085218229912. I will keep the identity of the informant confidential. We always maintain a commitment to provide professional and maximum good service to the community,” Kompol Multazam emphasized.

On the other hand, he also expressed his gratitude to the public who had provided information about police officers being brokers in making SIMs in Depok. He stated that he would take firm action against things like this so that people felt comfortable getting services.

“Please note that at every opportunity we always emphasize to our staff to provide professional service and not make things difficult for the public. If we mess around, we will take firm action!” he said.

As previously reported by progresifjaya.id, the practice of brokering and extortion is allegedly still widespread in the Depok SIM Satpas. The police officers on guard were also suspected of playing along.

This was discovered after an applicant named Indra, a resident of Potlot, Duren Tiga, Jakarta Selatan submitted his complaint. Indra came to the Polres Metro Depok Satpas SIM on Thursday, (2/5).

When he arrived there, said Indra, he was immediately offered a guarantee to make a SIM card with the police on guard at the front. Various conveniences are offered by these police officers, including not having to take written exams and practical exams.

“I was offered a photo directly without having to take an exam. Guaranteed to get a new SIM,” he said.

Initially he admitted that he was interested in the offer. However, when the person mentioned the nominal figure, he immediately withdrew and rejected the offer.

“I was offered a photo of SIM A straight away but paid Rp600.000. Meanwhile, the money i brought wasn’t that much. So yes, i withdrew and rejected the offer,” he said again.

He admitted that he spent Rp250.000 to make SIM A and followed the procedures.

“Make it normal using a test and take care of it yourself, paying Rp250.000. It’s a lot, the difference if you use a broker is up to Rp600.00,” said Indra.

Even so, he admitted that it felt more complicated if you took care of getting a new SIM according to the procedure. He repeated the theory test and practical test twice to get a SIM A.

“I’ve had three exams. Didn’t pass the first theory test. The second one just graduated. Then i didn’t pass the practice exam twice. The third one has just graduated,” he said at that time. (Bembo)
