progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Polres Metro Jakarta Barat together with Polsek Palmerah were able to secure two teenagers who were involved in a brawl on Jalan Taman Semangka, Palmerah, Jakarta Barat on Wednesday, (4/9) night. The two teenagers who were secured had the initials SI (17) and TF (16).
This brawl occurred due to a clash between the “Kamus Gantung” group that joined the “Gang Buaya” against the “Selebritis 02” group that joined the “Kebon Jahe”.
The two groups had previously challenged each other and arranged a meeting for the clash at an agreed location. In this brawl, a teenager with the initials DN (19) died due to two slash wounds 2-3 cm deep and 10-15 cm long on the right and left sides of his neck.
Wakapolres Metro Jakarta Barat, AKBP Teuku Arsya Khadafi, accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Polres Metro Jakarta Barat, AKBP Andri Kurniawan in his official statement said, the two brawl groups are also known to often change group names and social media.
“This is a way to show the existence of their group,” said Wakapolres Arsya.
He also explained, related to this issue, his party emphasized that it is the responsibility of many parties. Not only the responsibility of the police alone.
“The role of parents, teachers, community leaders, religious leaders is very much needed to anticipate similar incidents so that they do not happen again,” he said again.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Polres Metro Jakarta Barat, AKBP Andri Kurniawan also added, the chronology of this brawl began when the victim group, namely the “Kamus Gantung” and “Gang Buaya” alliances, sent a message via Instagram to the opposing group, “Selebritis 02” and “Kebon Jahe”. The message sent was a challenge to meet at the brawl location.
Next, the two groups gathered at a predetermined location carrying sharp weapons.
At around 02.30 WIB, a brawl broke out on Jalan Taman Semangka. The victim DN, who was at the forefront of his group, was involved in a duel with the perpetrator SI.
However, when he felt defeated, the victim tried to escape. But the perpetrators SI and TF did not stay still. The victim was immediately chased. SI then attacked the victim with a large sickle followed by TF who carried out a follow-up attack with a corbek towards the victim’s neck.
The victim still tried to escape but eventually fell. He was finally declared dead and was rushed to Tarakan Regional Hospital.
The two perpetrators then tried to escape to North Cikarang, West Java. But in the end they were still caught and successfully arrested by the police on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
The two perpetrators were then named as suspects and charged with Article 170 paragraph 2 to 3 of the Criminal Code. Both are threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years. (Bembo)
