progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The Polri have deployed 545 joint personnel to guard the Vatican Embassy, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Jakarta Pusat, during Pope Francis’ visit to Indonesia on September 3-6, 2024.
“So today we are starting security in front of the Vatican Embassy, 545 joint personnel have been put on standby in the area around the Vatican Embassy. Of course, we hope that today the Holy Father’s arrival at the Vatican Embassy can run safely and smoothly,” said the Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro in Jakarta Pusat, Tuesday, (3/9)
The joint personnel deployed consist of Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat, TNI, DKI Regional Government, and related agencies.
In addition, security is also being carried out to anticipate if there are Catholics who later want to welcome and see Pope Francis’ arrival directly when he arrives and during his stay at the Vatican Embassy. Likewise during his visit and agenda in the National Monument (Monas), Cathedral Church, and Istiqlal Mosque.
Kapolres Susatyo said, that security in the area around the Vatican Embassy would be strengthened if there were any actions carried out during Pope Francis’ visit. So, to ensure the visit runs smoothly, his party continues to implement persuasive and humanist security patterns.
Furthermore, Kapolres Susatyo also emphasized that security will last until Pope Francis leaves the Vatican Embassy.
