Residents Caught Stealing a Grandmother’s Motorbike, the Perpetrator was Judged at Pasar Minggu

progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya’s firm appeal for residents not to take the law into their own hands against perpetrators of theft seems to have yet to be heard. As proof, recently a man who stole a motorbike in Pasar Minggu, Jakarta Selatan, is still being targeted by residents until he is black and blue. He was badly hit by a local resident because he was caught stealing a grandmother’s motorbike.

Kapolsek Pasar Minggu, Kompol Anggiat Sinambela in his official statement said, that the vigilante action by residents occurred last Friday, (10/5) night. At that time, the perpetrator with the initials TWH (35) and his friend wanted to steal a motorbike belonging to a grandmother with the initials M (64), which was parked in an alley at the location. But unfortunately, this action was seen by local residents.

“The chronology is that both of them were thieves. Then the residents were good security guards. The victim was a grandmother. One perpetrator was waiting, the other went in to take it. The one who was caught was the one who took it,” said Kapolsek Anggiat to reporters, Saturday, (11/5).

Seeing that the perpetrator was caught by residents, his friend immediately ran away, leaving the perpetrator at the location. Meanwhile, the perpetrator can only surrender to being the life punching bag of angry residents.

“Just battered and battered by a resident’s bomb. We took help to the hospital next to the Polsek. Now we are at the Polsek, we have detained him because the doctor’s advice is good,” said Kapolsek Anggiat.

“The perpetrator also turned out to be a repeat recidivist. He was involved in a similar case in 2019,” he added, emphasizing again. (Bembo)
