progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The Polri deployed 2.178 joint personnel to secure the soccer match between Persija Jakarta and Dewa United in the continuation of the 2024-2025 Indonesian League 1 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Jakarta Pusat, Monday, (16/9). The joint personnel involved came from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat, TNI and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
The Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro said in his statement, that thousands of security personnel will be spread across several points in the GBK area. Starting from the entrance, the place where the match took place, to around GBK Senayan.
“Today we are deploying 2,178 joint personnel to secure the football match between Persija Jakarta and Dewa United in the continuation of the 2024-2025 Indonesian League 1 at GBK Jakarta. We will spread them to several points in the GBK area,” said Kapolres Susatyo, Monday, (16/9).
Furthermore, Kapolres Susatyo also appealed to spectators not to bring firecrackers, fireworks or “flares”, sharp weapons and alcoholic beverages.
“All parties must maintain security and order at the match location,” he said again.
Regarding the traffic flow situation, Kapolres Susatyo said that engineering was carried out situationally depending on conditions in the Senayan area, Jakarta Pusat.
“We only appeal to road users who are not concerned to avoid the area around GBK and find alternative routes so as not to get caught in traffic congestion,” he said.
Kapolres Susatyo emphasized that officers will take firm action against spectators who bring firecrackers, fireworks or “flares” as happened in the previous match at GBK.
“Those involved in security remain humane. We serve our brothers and sisters who will watch the football match. No one brought firearms during security,” he said.
Persija is currently in fifth place in the 2024-2025 Indonesian League 1 standings with a collection of seven points from four matches. Persija has only suffered one defeat this season, namely from PSBS Biak.
Meanwhile, Dewa United is perched in 12th place with five points from four matches.
The Persija vs Dewa United match at SUGBK Central Jakarta will be held starting at 19.00 WIB. (Bembo)
