progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The Saber Team of the Kamsel Sub-Directorate of Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya along with dozens of personnel from the nail mine community conducted a mine sweep on the arterial route that is part of the travel route of the World Catholic Church Leader Pope Francis, Tuesday, (3/9). The nail mine sweep started from the Semanggi Offramp, B5, Kuda Statue Roundabout, IRTI, to the front of the Accommodation.
Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Latif Usman in his statement said, that from the results of the sweep, they managed to find iron fragments, nail pieces and iron filings that could endanger drivers.
“The safety of Pope Francis and his followers is the main priority. And these security measures are Polda Metro Jaya’s commitment to providing a safe environment for all those involved in the activity,” said Kombes Pol Latif Usman, Tuesday, (3/9).
He hopes, that in addition to ensuring the safety of Pope Francis, these steps will also be an effort to help reduce traffic disruptions while also ensuring the smooth running of the event for all those attending.
“This is part of the integrated efforts of the Polda Metro Jaya and prioritizes preemptive, preventive security activities and law enforcement,” he said.
Furthermore, Kombes Pol Latif Usman also appealed to the public to avoid areas combed with nail mines during the event and to seek alternative routes if necessary. He hopes that Pope Francis’ visit can run safely and orderly until the end.
In addition to conducting a nail mine sweep, Polda Metro Jaya has also prepared 4.730 joint personnel to guard and secure the entire series of activities during Pope Francis’ visit. (Bembo)
