Securing the Demonstration Against the Revision of the Broadcasting Law, Polri Deployed 296 Joint Personnel in the DPR/MPR RI

progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat deployed 296 joint personnel to secure a demonstration by several elements of society who rejected the revision of the Broadcasting Law in front of the DPR/DPD/MPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat, today, Monday (27/5).

The joint personnel consisting of elements from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat, TNI, DKI Regional Government and other related agencies will be distributed to a number of points around the DPR/DPD/MPR RI buildings.

Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro in his official statement said, that in this security, a number of personnel had also been prepared to prevent mass action from entering the DPR/MPR RI building.

Meanwhile, the traffic engineering scheme around the DPR/MPR RI building is still situational.

“We have prepared a traffic flow engineering scheme, but it is situational. It will only be implemented based on developments in the dynamics of the situation in the field,” said Kapolres Susatyo.

“The number of the crowd was around 200 people. We will see the size of the crowd later. If there are quite a large crowd in front of the DPR/MPR RI and the escalation increases, then the traffic that will be heading towards the front of the DPR/DPD/MPR Building will be diverted,” he added.

Furthermore, the Kapolres Susatyo also reminded all personnel involved in security to always act persuasively, not provoke or be provoked, prioritize negotiation and humane service and maintain security and safety.

He also stated that none of the personnel involved in security carried weapons.

“None of the personnel involved in security carry weapons. All orders and control from me as Kapamwil (Head of Regional Security). Respect and appreciate our brothers and sisters who will express their opinions in public humanistically and professionally,” Kapolres Susatyo emphasized.

He also appealed to field coordinators (Korlap) and orators to deliver their speeches politely and not provoke the crowd.

“Demonstrate peacefully, do not impose your will, don’t be anarchic and don’t damage public facilities. Respect and respect other road users who will pass in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building,” concluded Kapolres Susatyo in his statement. (Bembo)
