progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Security guards are security units tasked with maintaining security and order in an area. Security guards work to protect people, buildings, and land in various locations, such as offices, industrial complexes, housing complexes, and shopping centers.
The main duties of security guards include maintaining security and order in their work areas and carrying out physical, personnel, information, and other technical security. Also protecting and guarding their work environment from security disturbances, enforcing the rules and regulations that apply in their work environment.
To become a security guard yourself is actually not easy. Everyone who wants to become a security guard must first take the Gada Pratama training. After completing the training, a special security guard diploma is obtained.
Head of Satpam and Polsus Sub-Directorate of Community Development Directorate (Ditbinmas) Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Yuliansyah in his official statement said, that Satpam members are indeed required to have a membership card (KTA) and a special Satpam diploma.
“We expect Satpam to have a KTA and diploma. Its legality must be accounted for. Therefore Satpam must have a KTA. Why? Because the person concerned carries out limited police activities, such as regulation, guarding, inspection, and so on. That is limited, yes,” explained AKBP Yuliansyah recently.
He explained, that based on existing regulations, Satpam KTA applications can be made through administration at the Polres, Polda, to Mabes Polri. Meanwhile, the Satpam diploma can be obtained after going through the Gada Pratama training process.
AKBP Yuliansyah explained, that the Satpam training process was carried out at the Balai Tetap Setia PP Polri. This training involves the Security Service Business Agency (BUJP) headed by former Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen (ret.) Sofjan Jacob.
“BUJP DKI is one that will produce reliable and professional Satpam or security guards who assist the police, carrying out limited police functions,” he said.
According to AKBP Yuliansyah, a few months ago there were 802 participants who took part in Satpam training. The training participants were divided into three waves with the number of participants divided evenly. This training activity includes various types of training.
Ditbinmas itself also monitors the security guards in the BUJP association every month.
“We also have supervision activities, every month we visit BUJP in DKI. We do re-checks. Are there any complaints from the community? We also do maintenance. For us, the Police are in school, they are the same. Getting more training to move up the ranks,” explained AKBP Yuliansyah emphasizing. (Bembo)
