progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The Population Identification Number (NIK) will certainly be the number on the driving license (SIM). Socialization regarding changes to SIM numbers will be carried out starting July 2024 and will be effective from 2025.
This was the statement made by the Director of Registration and Identification (Dirregident) of the Korlantas Polri, Brigjen Pol Yusri Yunus when launching the C1 SIM at the Polda Metro Jaya SIM Satpas, Jalan Daan Mogot km 11, Jakarta Barat, Monday, (27/5).
“Starting July 1 2024 (socialization) will start. Later the changes will be according to the active period of the SIM. “When it is extended, it will automatically change,” he said.
“Starting in 2025 we will use NIK as a SIM number,” he added.
It was stated, that the use of NIK as a SIM number aims to make it the same data. This step is also in line with the Polri’s vision to synergize with the government in a one data program.
“Why use NIK? Because we are single data, we want one data. So if people search for NIK, all the data comes out. Later, your KTP, SIM A, SIM C, NPWP, BPJS, etc. will be issued. With single data, everything is easier,” stressed Brigjen Pol Yunus. (Bembo)
