progresifjaya.id, KULONPROGO – Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo inaugurated the construction of roads and irrigation channels in Bulak Sawah, Garongan Village, Panjatan District, Kulonprogo, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Saturday, (15/2).
In his remarks, Kapolri Listyo Sigit stated the important role of infrastructure development as a supporter of increasing agricultural productivity and the welfare of the local community.
“Earlier we inaugurated the construction of roads that of course enter the agricultural area, as well as irrigation. Hopefully, this infrastructure can be useful in helping farmers, especially in Garongan Village, to be more productive,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit.
Furthermore, he also hopes that the construction of this infrastructure can increase harvest yields, while making Garongan Village one of the main rice barns in the Kulonprogo area. He also emphasized that this program is part of the Polri’s efforts to support national food security while improving the welfare of farmers.
“With the repair of irrigation channels and roads to the rice fields, we hope that Garongan Village can become an area with a surplus of rice production. This can certainly encourage local economic growth,” he said.
In addition to inaugurating the infrastructure, Kapolri Listyo Sigit also handed over social assistance as a form of the Polri’s concern for the community. Also present at this activity were a number of high-ranking officials from the Polri Headquarters, the Kapolda DIY, Irjen Pol Suwondo Nainggolan and the local government. (Bembo)
