Getting to know more closely the figure of Mayjen TNI Rafael Granada Baay, the man born in Tidore, June 25, 1971, is a graduate of the Military Academy (Akmil) 1993. Before serving as Pangdam Jaya, Pangdam Rafael served in Jawa Timur as Pangdam Brawijaya. His transfer of duties from Kodam V/Brawijaya to Kodam Jaya is stated in the Decree of the Panglima TNI Number Kep/851/VII/2024 concerning Dismissal from and Appointment to Positions within the TNI, dated July 24, 2024.
In his career, Pangdam Rafael had been a ‘combat grasshopper’ in Operation Seroja and Operation Madago Raya. He also served as Deputy Commander of the Joint Special Operations Command (Koopsgabsus) Tricakti.
Koopsgabsus is a unit formed by the TNI to pursue 11 wanted persons (DPO) terrorists from the Qatar and Ali Kalora groups in the interior of the forests and mountains of Poso, Sigi, and Parimo, Central Sulawesi. The terrorist pursuit operation itself was active after the attack on four civilians in Lemban Tongoa Village, Sigi, Sulawesi Tengah, on November 27, 2020.
