progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The National Police’s Traffic Corps (Korlantas) has extended the implementation period for the one-way system traffic engineering scheme on H-2 of Eid. This extension of traffic engineering was carried out due to looking at data on homecoming traffic from Km 72 of the Cipali Toll Road to Km 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Road, Semarang, Central Java, which is predicted to still be busy until Monday, (8/4/) at 24.00 WIB.
“Initially, we scheduled April 7 2024 at 24.00 for the one way traffic engineering to be stopped. However, considering the data above, we will continue (extend) the eastbound traffic engineering activity, continue, until we evaluate it tomorrow (Monday),” said the Kakorlantas Polri, Irjen Pol Aan Suhanan at the Operation Ketupat 2024 command center at Km 29, Cikampek, Monday, morning.
It was said, that the reason was that his party extended the implementation of one way beyond the schedule stated in the Joint Decree (SKB).
According to him, according to the SKB, his party wants to stop the one way system on Sunday, (7/4) evening at 24.00 WIB. However, vehicle traffic counting monitored from the vehicle count machine still shows an increase in the number of vehicles passing on the toll road to the east of Java Island.
“There is still an increase in the number of vehicles passing towards the east of Java Island, so this is being extended,” he said.
Korlantas Polri, said Irjen Pol Aan, as of Sunday, (7/4) at 23.00 WIB had carried out a joint count with Jasa Marga, especially from 7 traffic counts spread from kilometer 73 to kilometer 71.
“So starting at 20.00 WIB, 21.00 WIB and 22.00 WIB there will be a significant increase in traffic flow heading to the eastbound Trans Java,” he said.
Based on the calculations above, he continued, the one way system was actually stopped on Sunday, (7/4) at 24.00 WIB and was extended until Monday, (8/4) at 24.00 WIB.
“We will evaluate again on Monday,” he said.
Apart from that, he said that daily data for vehicles heading east was still around 130 thousand to 135 thousand vehicles, so there was still visible improvement even though it was stagnant.
“So hopefully when we see these numbers we won’t feel the peak of this current, meaning it will be flat because it has been spread over the previous days on the 3rd, until the 7th, the same number of numbers on the 8th (April) this morning which was originally predicted to be a light peak. “Hopefully this figure is flat,” he said.
According to him, one indicator of flat vehicle data crossing the Trans Java route is due to the implementation of the odd-even system (GaGe) which has been in effect since the first day of homecoming departure.
“Keep going, this is also one of the things that might cause this to be flat,” he said.
According to him, many people going home follow the traffic engineering rules that his party enforces according to the schedule, including odd-even.
Like on Friday, (5/4), he continued, there were more than 600 vehicles, then Saturday, (6/4) there were 400 vehicles.
“On Sunday at 24.00 WIB we will see if there is a decrease in GaGe violations, on the first day it was 600, on the second day it was 400 or so on the third day. Hopefully it will start to match the gage,” he concluded. (Bembo)
