progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public to avoid the area around Monas, the Arjuna Wijaya Statue Roundabout (Patung Kuda) and Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jakarta Pusat starting at 09.00 WIB. An appeal was conveyed regarding the fact that there would be demonstrations to express opinions in public.
“Road users are advised to avoid the area and look for alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion,” wrote the TMC Polda Metro Jaya Twitter account in its upload, Monday, (22/4).
Meanwhile, Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro in his statement this morning said, that his party had prepared a traffic engineering scheme to anticipate traffic jams due to demonstrations. However, this is situational considering developments in the field.
Kapolres Susatyo said, that the traffic engineering scheme being prepared was to close the Harmoni traffic light (TL) which leads to Jalan Merdeka Barat and divert it to Jalan Kesehatan.
Then, Jalan Perwira which leads to Jalan Merdeka Utara was also closed and diverted to the route to the Istiqlal Mosque and Lapangan Banteng.
TL Thamrin will also be closed and diverted to Jalan Kebon Sirih which leads to Jalan Abdul Muis and to the Tani Statue.
“That’s why we urge you. Residents who will be passing around Monas should look for alternative routes because there will be an action to convey their opinions at the Horse Statue,” he stressed. (Bembo)
