progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – Subdit Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya has again arrested two new suspects in the case of unblocking online gambling sites (judol) involving employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi). Now the number of suspects for this case is 16 people.
Dirreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra in his statement explained, that the two new suspects who were arrested were a Komdigi employee and another civilian.
“The new suspects consist of one Komdigi employee and one civilian,” he said.
The Komdigi employees who became suspects should have been tasked with blocking online gambling sites. However, this authority was instead misused for the employee’s personal gain.
The suspects, Komdigi employees, did not block the online gambling sites that were found. Instead, they made them their foster children so that they were not blocked.
“They commit abuse. If they already know them, they don’t block them from their data,” said Kabid Humas of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi some time ago.
“They get Rp8,5 million from each online gambling site that is supervised. And there are 1.000 online gambling sites that are supervised. Just multiply how much money is obtained from this abuse of authority,” he added. (Bembo)
