progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – A total of 170 teenage students were gathered in the courtyard of DKI Jakarta City Hall after being caught in a convoy carrying flags and playing with firecrackers, Wednesday, (3/4).
They are also suspected of being involved in a brawl using sharp weapons. The parents of the teenagers who were gathered were also called to come accompany them.
Together with the teenagers and their parents, the Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Department, Purwosusilo, represented the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, Kasatpol PP DKI Jakarta, Arifin, Director of Binmas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Badya Wijaya and Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro.
In his statement, Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo said, that their gathering was clear evidence of the police’s love for them.
“This is a form of our love from the police for our children. At least this week it went viral on social media regarding student convoys which then developed into brawls in several areas in Jakarta, especially Jakarta Pusat,” said Kapolres Susatyo.
“In fact, since last week, we have taken action or preventive strikes against students or teenagers who were in convoys and indicated that they were going to brawl. We arrested them all because they had violated the Kapolda’s Metro Jaya edict in the month of Ramadhan,” he added.
He explained, that in the preventive strike action, 170 teenage students were netted. Then 80 motorbikes, 26 firecrackers and 18 flags were also confiscated. Of the 170 students caught, two of them also tested positive for drug use from urine test results.
“We don’t want our children to have to die in vain on the streets because of the actions of our little brothers and sisters. And there is a lot of proof of that. This is a concern for parents that i present today. So that it can be a moment for all of you, ladies and gentlemen, to make it extra special. Watch over our sons and daughters,” reminded Kapolres Susatyo. (Bembo)
