progresifjaya.id, JAKARTA – The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Citizen Journalists Association (Ketum PPWI), Wilson Lalengke, tried to throw wild issues into the public that have the potential to disrupt the integrity of the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto. Wilson Lalengke said that Kapolda Karyoto is backing Golkar Party politician, Fahd El Fouz or Fad A Rafiq in terms of legal arrangements at Polda Metro Jaya.
Currently, the son of dangdut singer A Rafiq is known to be trying to imprison his own friend, Faisal, on charges of extortion, fraud, and/or embezzlement at Polda Metro Jaya. In the process of naming Faisal a suspect, Fahd A Rafiq is suspected of using his closeness to the Kapolda Metro Jaya to back his efforts to imprison Faisal, an Acehnese resident living in Jakarta.
“In front of me, the investigator was called by Fahd A Rafiq, put on loudspeaker so that we could hear, he said ‘what are the obstacles, just name Faisal as a suspect, arrest him, detain him, just put him in a cell with the chicken thief there’. And the Unit Head together with the Unit Committee and investigators were in a panic and didn’t dare to reject Fahd’s request,” said Wilson who was accompanied by Advocate Irwansyah as Faisal’s attorney.
“The Secretary of the Kapolda Metro Jaya also called the Unit Head every time to ask what the obstacles were and asked that the reported Faisal be immediately named a suspect and immediately detained,” he added.
Regarding this, Wilson continued, he admitted that he was very concerned. And according to him, the Kapolda Metro Jaya should be prosecuted for various violations of the Polri Code of Ethics and alleged bribery in the Pertamina case involving Fahd A Rafiq as a person who deposited monthly funds of Rp25 billion to certain Kapolda Metro Jaya.
Even so, Wilson Lalengke’s statement did not immediately receive widespread support from the public. The Chairman of the Presidium of the Transparency Society Committee (KMT), Abu Yazid, in his statement when asked for his response, called Wilson’s statement a show-off.
“Wilson Lalengke wants to get widespread attention and support to raise his selling price in the community. From his language delivery alone, it is inappropriate as a figure. His actions and background are also normative. How can it be used as a benchmark,” said Abu Yazid smiling.
He said again, all of this drama is strongly suspected of leading to the upcoming Kapolri candidate exchange. There are parties from the ranks of Jenderal who are suspected of being the masterminds and do not want Irjen Pol Karyoto to enter the exchange and win the Kapolri seat. By using their influence and financial strength, this line of masterminds is trying to dramatize and politicize the situation. Kapolda Karyoto is trying to be negatively framed so that his credibility and integrity as a high-ranking Polri officer falls and his chances of becoming Kapolri are lost.
“The accusation of Kapolda Karyoto as the party who received ‘security funds’ for Pertamina’s halal-haram fuel business, especially related to the flow of funds from corruption of Ron90 Pertalite mixed fuel sold as Ron92 Pertamax, actually doesn’t make sense. He is only a two-star general with authority limited to Jadetabek. There are still many three-star generals at the Polri Headquarters with national authority. Why not go in that direction logically,” said Abu Yazid again.
TSM Slander
In line with Abu Yazid, the Head of the Indonesian Budget Transparency and Anti-Corruption Institute (Lemtaki), Edy Susilo SSos also suspects that the negative attacks are related to the succession of the Polri leadership which may occur in the near future. The position of Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo is considered by many to be too long and it is time to be replaced. Or it could be another strategic position at the Polri Headquarters.
“The negative attacks seem TSM (structured, systematic, massive). Controlled by someone systematically because the content is almost all similar. Also massive where the effort to make it a trending topic en masse. It is very likely that this is related to the succession, there will be a change of leadership in the Polri,” said Edy Susilo some time ago.
Logically, Edy continued, the information seemed like a hoax because there was no clear source of the news. Then the content also tended to be slander as a personal attack on the Kapolda.
“If it is called the flow of security funds, the working area of the Polda Metro is limited to its territory. Meanwhile, the fuel business covers Indonesia and even crosses countries because of imported fuel. This is unreasonable,” he said.
Edy said that the spectacular case currently being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya is the alleged extortion of the Minister of Agriculture Sahrul Yasin Limpo by making the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee Firli Bahuri a suspect as of November 22, 2022. In developing the investigation, the case found elements of gratification from businessman Alex Tirta, the owner of the Alexis entertainment venue which was closed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan. The case also continued to develop into alleged money laundering (TPPU) and the Polda together with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Polri Headquarters traced all of Firli’s assets.
Throughout the legal process, it is suspected that there was intervention and pressure for the case to be stopped. Firli Bahuri himself has several times submitted a request for the case that ensnared him to be SP3, both through lawyers and using statements from legal experts. However, Kapolda Karyoto insisted on not wanting to issue an SP3 and wanted to continue the legal process to court. The tug-of-war seems to have stalled until now, where Polda Metro Jaya has become the party that is cornered because it seems incapable and not serious about resolving Firli’s case.

Previously, Kapolda Karyoto was linked to a businessman from Yogyakarta, Muhammad Suryo, in the DJKA case, but all were refuted by themselves. So this time it is also suspected that it was carried out by the same group, who are trying to find Kapolda Karyoto’s weaknesses to bring him down,” explained Edy.
Meanwhile, regarding the Pertamina mixed fuel corruption case, Edy continued, let the Attorney General’s Office investigate freely without intervention from any party. Anyone involved must be processed and investigated thoroughly.
“The Attorney General’s Office must not slacken because the public’s trust is increasing. Don’t lose trust again. Complete the Pertamina mixed fuel case by dragging everyone involved. The potential state loss is not only Rp92.7 trillion in 2023. If accumulated over 5 years from 2018-2023, the loss could reach Rp1.000 trillion. That’s just Pertalite Pertamax, what about solar,” said Edy based on logic.
“And for the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto, we hope he remains calm and patient. His performance as the Kapolda Metro has been recognized as very good by the public. There is a lot of support for him to advance as the Kapolda. So in all these tests, just position yourself as a caravan. Let the dogs bark and don’t care anymore,” he added emphasizing. (Bembo)
